Substituting fat with applesauce

You can substitute half of the amount of fat used in a recipe with an equal amount of applesauce. For example, if your recipe requires 2 tablespoons of butter, use 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of applesauce. That should give you a very similar result, much lower in fat.
