Homemade tartar sauce

General
Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise 240 ml mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp onion (minced) 15 ml onion (minced)
- 1 tbsp capers (finely chopped) 15 ml capers (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish 15 ml sweet pickle relish
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (optional) 30 ml lemon juice (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste Salt and black pepper to taste
Method
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and stir well to combine. Taste and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
This tartar sauce will keep for in the refrigerator for up to a week.
