Fettucini Alfredo
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter 240 ml butter
- 3 cup heavy whipping cream 720 ml heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp garlic (minced) 30 ml garlic (minced)
- 1 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated) 320 ml Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
- Salt and freshly gound pepper to taste Salt and freshly gound pepper to taste
- A dash cayenne pepper A dash cayenne pepper
- 1 package of fettuccine (for 4 servings) 1 package of fettuccine (for 4 servings)
- Fresh parsley, finely chopped Fresh parsley, finely chopped
Method
While the fettucioni is cooking, add the butter in a saucepan over low to medium heat and melt. Add the garlic, cream and cayenne pepper and simmer for 20-30 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
Pour the sauce over the fettucini and stir well until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Sprinkle with more freshly ground black pepper and the parsley and serve.
