No ratings yet 15 min Serves 6 Mexican
Nachos are tortilla chips topped with melted cheddar cheese and sliced jalapeno peppers, great as a starter dish. This recipe shows how to make original homemade nachos. Nachos can be served with sour cream, salsa, guacamole and freshly chopped cilantro (coriander).

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (14 oz) Tortilla chips
  • 2–3 cup refried beans
  • 3 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 4 pickled jalapeno peppers, sliced
  • To serve with
  • Sour cream
  • Tomato salsa
  • Guacamole
  • Fresh cilantro (coriander), roughly chopped

Method

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Cover a shallow baking pan with one or two layers of tortilla chips. Carefully cover the chips with the refried beans, making sure not to break the chips. Sprinkle the tortilla chips first with the grated cheese and then with the sliced jalapeno peppers.

Bake in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Serve in the baking dish topped with sour cream, salsa, guacamole and the chopped coriander or any of the above, according to your taste.

Cook's notes

Use a baking disj that is suitable for serving since it is difficult to move the chips to another dish after baking them. Make sure that the dish you use is oven prrof.
