Pasta or rice Alfredo

Ingredients
- 8 oz package pasta (fettucini or tagliatelle; or 2 cups rice) 225 g package pasta (fettucini or tagliatelle; or 2 cups rice)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter 120 ml unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light cream 120 ml light cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 120 ml grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese 60 ml shredded Swiss cheese
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Method
Cook the pasta or rice according to instructions on the packaging. Drain, if using pasta, set aside and keep warm.
While the pasta is cooking, add the butter in a saucepan and melt over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and add the cream. When the cream and butter mixture heats up, remove from the heat and pour over the pasta. Toss well until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce. Top with the Parmesan and swiss cheeses and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
If using rice, the procedure is the same. Just pour the cream sauce over the rice, top with the Parmesan and swiss cheese and season with salt and pepper.
